SKED-EVAC Aluminum Cobra Buckle Conversion Kit

Skedco now offers a complete conversion kit that includes six patented AustriAlpin Cobra™ quick release buckles.  These lightweight aluminum side-release buckles are dependable and strong enough to meet the needs of securing a patient into a Sked® stretcher without the danger of breakage. The buckles are rated at 3,000 lbs. and are difficult to release while under tension. By using the Cobra buckle system, you will no longer have to weave the webbing through the buckles when packaging a patient, therefore patient packaging is often done in about half of the time as when using the original steel buckles. The Cobra buckle straps girth-hitch onto the Sked stretcher for quick and easy installation.

The Helitack AirBag is designed for rapid extraction of a subject by means of a single-point suspension from a helicopter by short-haul or hoist evacuation. Constructed from heavy-duty 1,000-denier Cordura nylon for long life and durability in harsh environments.

Half-SKED Patient Drag

Skedco developed the Half-Sked for extricating patients from spaces too tight or restricted for other stretchers. Ideal for tactical teams that need to secure and rapidly extricate an injured person, the Half-Sked allows rescuers to bend the patient at the hips, allowing greater flexibility to turn corners in caves or confined spaces. It uses two-inch-wide chest and leg straps with side-release buckles to package the patient quickly and securely, particularly valuable if the patient must be immediately evacuated from a high risk area.

HMH SKED Rescue System

Compact, decontaminable, durable and adaptable, the HMH Sked Stretcher is ideal in mass-casualty and hazardous materials incidents. It can be dragged over virtually any terrain including stairways and can be rapidly deployed by one person. Made of medium-density polyethylene plastic, the HMH Sked withstands high temperatures and is unbreakable as low as 120 degrees Fahrenheit below zero.

Patient Tie-in System

For many years the accepted method for securing a patient in a litter was improvised internal and external lashings using one-inch tubular web. Critical patient-packaging time could be lost and often the finished lashing was either too tight or too loose. Looking for a quicker and more secure way, we developed our Patient Tie-In System after testing a variety of prototypes in CMC Rescue School classes. The refined product weighs less, is quick and secure, and can be easily adjusted to meet the patient’s requirements for comfort. The available pelvic harness supports the patient’s weight when the litter is placed in a head-up position. Available for a one-piece or two-piece litter and can be used with the pelvic harness system or for a patient on a backboard. Color-coded web helps keep the system organized.

SKEDCO Oregon Spine Splint II

Developed by Skedco for use with the Sked Stretcher, the OSS II fits inside a rolled up stretcher. Skedco states “the OSS II is the safest, most effective vest-type extrication and immobilization device available today.” Includes a shoulder board that prevents compression of a patient in a Sked stretcher. Excellent immobilization of the head and cervical spine, and when used with the Sked, functions as a long spine board. Built to last under rugged conditions. Can be cleaned with common bleach solutions. X-ray translucent. Instructions included.

Litter Shield Clamp

Trusted and proven from years in the field, our Litter Shield attaches to a mount on the litter rail that allows the shield to quickly pivot and nest inside the litter for transporting and storing. A quick-release pin allows the shield to be completely removed when necessary. This lower-profile version makes storage easier, but does not provide as much clearance for the patient’s face as the Litter Shield Plus, see below. Each Litter Shield requires a railing clamp. Replacement parts for Litter Shields are available through the website or by contacting Customer Support.

Helitack Hotseat

The Helitack HotSeat rescue extrication device is designed for rapid transport of a subject by means of helicopter short-hauling or hoisting. The quick-donning device expedites the rescue by securing the subject in a stable semi-seated orientation for evacuation without the need to place them into a harness. The HotSeat adjusts quickly from small juvenile patients to larger persons up to 500 lbs (227 kg). Heavy-duty fabric and construction used for long life and durability in harsh environments.

SKED Basic Rescue System

Compact storage, ease of use, and flexibility in transport have made Skedco’s Sked stretcher popular with fire departments, rescue squads, the military, and ski patrols. Made from a heavy sheet of plastic, the stretcher becomes rigid when folded around your patient. A variety of handles and straps allows the stretcher to be transported by carrying, lifting (vertically or horizontally) by rope systems or helicopter, or towed with the stretcher sliding on the smooth bottom surface. The system comes complete with the stretcher, Cordura® nylon backpack/towing harness, two straps, horizontal lift slings, vertical lift sling, one large steel carabiner, and four removable web handles. The Sked storage bag is 36 inches (91 cm) long by 9 inches (23 cm) in diameter.
