Patient Tie-in System

For many years the accepted method for securing a patient in a litter was improvised internal and external lashings using one-inch tubular web. Critical patient-packaging time could be lost and often the finished lashing was either too tight or too loose. Looking for a quicker and more secure way, we developed our Patient Tie-In System after testing a variety of prototypes in CMC Rescue School classes. The refined product weighs less, is quick and secure, and can be easily adjusted to meet the patient’s requirements for comfort. The available pelvic harness supports the patient’s weight when the litter is placed in a head-up position. Available for a one-piece or two-piece litter and can be used with the pelvic harness system or for a patient on a backboard. Color-coded web helps keep the system organized.

Fastlink Anchor Strap

The Fastest Connecting Anchor Strap Solution Available! Standard anchor straps with D-rings on each end can create tri-axial loading on the connecting carabiner. A delta screw link connecting the two ends of the strap eliminates this hazard, but screw links are slow to fasten and add weight. We’ve eliminated the D-rings and solved both problems with this new design. Simply wrap the strap around the anchor point and clip the integrated ProTech™ Auto-Lock Carabiner into the included 12 mm Delta Quick Link, and you’re ready to connect your system.

Fastlink Pick-Off Strap

This is the only Pick-Off Strap with two carabiners incorporated directly into the strap, which reduces the overall weight. We use the same high-strength, mil-spec web and adjuster hardware as our original Pick-Off Strap. The web begins to slip through the buckle at 17-18 kN (3,800-4,000 lbf). The two ProTech™ Auto-Lock Carabiners with keeper pins are UL Classified to NFPA 1983 – Technical Use.

Variable Anchor Strap

Our Variable Anchor Strap differs significantly in design and performance from other adjustable anchor straps. By using an additional length of web, it can handle a higher load before slipping. It adjusts from 3 ft (91 cm) to 7 ft (213 cm). The D-ring on one end is larger so the other end can pass through, allowing the strap to be rigged in a choker (girth hitch) configuration and still be adjusted. The high strength, quick adjustability and variable length make this strap a jack of all trades. Sewn-on web keeper allows for improved organization when stowed. Note: We recommend using a Delta Quick Link connector (part #382121) to prevent possible tri-axile loading of a carabiner when used in a basket configuration. Strength Specifications with Blue Web:  Basket (U) Configuration: 70 kN (15,736 lbf) End-to-End Configuration: 27 kN (6,070 lbf) Choker Configuration: 30 kN (6,744 lbf) Strength Specifications with Black Web:  Basket (U) Configuration: 60 kN (13,488 lbf) End-to-End Configuration: 29 kN (6,519 lbf) Choker Configuration: 35 kN (7,868 lbf)

Pick-Off Strap

CMC created the Pick-Off Strap so that a rescuer could quickly connect to the victim and then adjust the strap to the desired length. Our Pick-Off Strap works well for positioning the victim for a lowering or rappel-based pick-off, or for an assisted rappel. We added a loop to the end for a more positive grip when pulling to adjust. Our strong 1-3/4 inch web improves long-term durability, especially where the strap threads through the buckle. Depending on how the buckle is loaded, it will begin to slip between 15-20 kN (3,500-4,500 lbf). Tying off the buckle will increase the strength. The integrated Web Keeper™ allows the strap to be carried on a gear sling or harness without tangling or getting caught.

SKED Basic Rescue System

Compact storage, ease of use, and flexibility in transport have made Skedco’s Sked stretcher popular with fire departments, rescue squads, the military, and ski patrols. Made from a heavy sheet of plastic, the stretcher becomes rigid when folded around your patient. A variety of handles and straps allows the stretcher to be transported by carrying, lifting (vertically or horizontally) by rope systems or helicopter, or towed with the stretcher sliding on the smooth bottom surface. The system comes complete with the stretcher, Cordura® nylon backpack/towing harness, two straps, horizontal lift slings, vertical lift sling, one large steel carabiner, and four removable web handles. The Sked storage bag is 36 inches (91 cm) long by 9 inches (23 cm) in diameter.

SKED Basic Rescue System With Cobra Buckles

Skedco now offers the patented AustriAlpin Cobra quick-release buckles on the Sked stretcher. These lightweight aluminum side-release buckles are dependable and strong enough to meet the needs of securing a patient into a Sked stretcher without the danger of breakage. The buckles are rated at 3,000 lbs. and are difficult to release while under tension. By using the Cobra buckle system, you will no longer have to weave the webbing through the buckles when packaging a patient, therefore patient packaging is often done in about half of the time as when using the original steel buckles.

HMH SKED Rescue System

Compact, decontaminable, durable and adaptable, the HMH Sked Stretcher is ideal in mass-casualty and hazardous materials incidents. It can be dragged over virtually any terrain including stairways and can be rapidly deployed by one person. Made of medium-density polyethylene plastic, the HMH Sked withstands high temperatures and is unbreakable as low as 120 degrees Fahrenheit below zero.

Litter Shield

Trusted and proven from years in the field, our Litter Shield attaches to a mount on the litter rail that allows the shield to quickly pivot and nest inside the litter for transporting and storing. A quick-release pin allows the shield to be completely removed when necessary. This lower-profile version makes storage easier, but does not provide as much clearance for the patient’s face as the Litter Shield Plus, see below. Each Litter Shield requires a railing clamp.
